THE ROUTE

A walk of approximately 7.5 km discovering Alcanede and its surroundings, traversing streets, rural paths, and landscapes that bear the marks of a long human occupation and reveal the relationship between the village and the territory that surrounds it.

The route passes by Alcanede Castle, a major element of local heritage and a testament to the strategic importance of this land throughout history, allowing for a better understanding of the role it played in the defense and organization of this territory.

Along the way, other places, buildings, heritage landmarks, and landscape elements emerge, helping to understand the evolution of the village and parish, from their origins to more recent experiences.

Between heritage, memory, architecture, history, and landscape, this is a walk that invites you to look at Alcanede more attentively, discovering not only what remains visible, but also the stories, transformations, and identities that have been built in this territory of Espírito Santo over the centuries.
